I currently reside in Portland, but am originally from Melbourne, Australia.
My blog reflects my philosophy on food – simple, flavourful, fresh & home cooked. Or in other words, damn delicious food!
I love simple, home cooked meals food that accentuate good quality fresh and flavourful ingredients that anyone can cook regardless of your ability.
I love cooking for a crowd, and believe food should be celebrated with people. I aim to take the stress out of cooking by providing menu plans, helpful how to’s and other tips and tricks for cooking for large crowds.
My meals are (mostly) healthy, that highlight seasonal ingredients that are easy to find on supermarket shelves or at fresh food markets.
I love cooking with fresh, local and organic ingredients where possible, but am not impartial to whipping up some delicious, comfort meals at well!
A Little About Me
Originally from Australia, my husband, Adam, and I moved to Portland Oregon in February 2016. I am a high school Social Studies teacher, however found myself unable to work for the majority of 2016. I started a Healthy Food blog, while working towards getting my teaching license and found that I developed a love for cooking, writing and food photography.
In January 2017 I changed my blog focus, to an area I was most passionate about – cooking the food I most loved.
I draw inspiration for my recipes from many different aspects of my life. I love to travel, which is a huge inspiration for my food. When I can’t travel, I find inspiration from researching different cuisines, other blogs, family, restaurants and my cravings for Australian food!
I hope to inspire people to understand that home cooking is simple, fun and can be achieved by anyone, while highlighting the use of fresh and flavourful ingredients!
Entertaining for people is one of my favourite things to do and I want to share my passion with you. I also hope to inspire you to join me in celebrating food with people, whether that be good friends or family.
