Nutty, seedy, crunchy chocolate granola – need I say more?
Chocolate? For breakfast? Seriously?
I’ve been going through a bit of a granola phase lately. After making our crunchy granola recipe in the past, I felt like I needed to add a bit more bang to my morning breakfast, so decided to use the base of our regular granola recipe, and jazz it up a little bit! I’ve been wanting to upload this recipe for a long time, but every time I made it, something just didn’t seem to work out. The first time I made this chocolate granola, was just an experiment, and I kinda forgot to write down the quantities, the second time, it didn’t have enough cocoa in it, and it looked dull and boring, and third times a charm! I actually wrote down the ingredients, and it turned out a lovely chocolately colour! All three times, it still had that lovely taste, I just never got around to getting the perfect colour! I changed my cocoa brands, and went for a darker cocoa, which I think added a little bitterness to it, which I love. You can always counter balance the bitter chocolate with a little more maple syrup if you wish!
I wish I could actually enjoy this chocolate granola as much as I would like however. So even though I’m in my mid (I’m going to stick with mid) 20s, my stupid wisdom tooth has erupted 🙁 so it’s really rather difficult to eat anything too hard at the moment which is really sad! Do you find that you have a particular side of your mouth that you chew with? Well my dominant chewing side is my right, which is where my wisdom tooth is coming up! Urgh, so painful! So I’ve been training my left side to get chewing! Ha ha, not really sure how a post about chocolate granola ended up with a chat about wisdom teeth! I think I’m just sad because I can’t eat all the food!
So, unlike me, I hope that you can enjoy this nutty and seedy chocolate granola and that your teeth have full chomping capacity! Because we think that you’ll love our chocolate granola recipe! Remember, if you make a recipe, tag us on instagram #healthypears
