Easy Quinoa

A really simple way of cooking quinoa!

Ingredients
 

  • ½ cup raw quinoa
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil

Instructions
 

  • Pour raw quinoa into a sieve, and rinse thoroughly for about 2-3 minutes until all the quinoa is wet and rinsed. Set aside to drain
  • Heat olive oil in a saucepan until hot (not too hot!)
  • Add the quinoa to the olive oil and cook for about 1 minute just until dried off.
  • Add the water and stir.
  • Bring to the boil.
  • Reduce heat to low, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until water is absorbed and quinoa is cooked. The quinoa looks like tiny little spirals when ready.
  • Leave to stand for 5 minutes covered.
  • Fluff, and serve when ready.

Notes

If the quinoa is still not cooked after 15-20 minutes, bring back to low heat until all water is absorbed.
