- 26 oz bottle of red wine one standard bottle of wine
- 3 quills cinnamon
- 12 cloves
- 12 cardamom pods
- 2 orange peel 2" or 5cm long pieces
- 2 slices orange
- 3 star anise
- ¼ - ½ cup sugar
- ¼ cup bourbon optional
Place wine and spices in a large dutch oven and set aside for 2 hours to mull.
Once ready, slowly heat up wine over low heat until warmed.
Add sugar and dissolve. Keep adding sugar until desired sweetness has been reached.
Serve hot in a mug and enjoy!
