A really simple way of cooking quinoa!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup raw quinoa
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Pour raw quinoa into a sieve, and rinse thoroughly for about 2-3 minutes until all the quinoa is wet and rinsed. Set aside to drain
  2. Heat olive oil in a saucepan until hot (not too hot!)
  3. Add the quinoa to the olive oil and cook for about 1 minute just until dried off.
  4. Add the water and stir.
  5. Bring to the boil.
  6. Reduce heat to low, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until water is absorbed and quinoa is cooked. The quinoa looks like tiny little spirals when ready.
  7. Leave to stand for 5 minutes covered.
  8. Fluff, and serve when ready.

Recipe Notes

If the quinoa is still not cooked after 15-20 minutes, bring back to low heat until all water is absorbed.
