Chocolate Bark Four Ways

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

Chocolate bark four ways? Say what now! These make the perfect little Christmas present, and you won't be able to resist the leftovers!

Chocolate Bark four Ways a great gift idea for the holidays www.thehomecookskitchen.com What would Christmas be without some form of delicious dark chocolate goodness? Chocolate bark has always been a favourite of mine. And the best thing, you can easily swap and mix it up - there is no right or wrong way of making it!

I decided for this post to give you a special - chocolate bark four ways. I've included a healthy (ish) version, as well as some of the classic flavour combinations!

Another thing I love about this recipe, is that you can make it in the perfect little Christmas gift (just like these DIY chocolate chip cookie jars!)! Smash it up, wrap it in a little cellophane, add a decorative ribbon and bam, you've got yourself a gift for your office buddies, friends or Secret Santa!

All four of these recipes follow the same formula - start off with the chocolate, then add the toppings and refrigerate/freeze until firm. There is no right way of adding the ingredients, which is why I've left it vaguer. You can sprinkle as much or as little as you want, it is completely customisable!

The basics for all the chocolate are about 100g/3.5oz melted dark chocolate and then the toppings of your choice. You need to melt the chocolate in the microwave, I do it in 30 second increments, stirring after each time to avoid burning.

Then it's a matter of laying out parchment paper on a baking tray, pouring the melted chocolate onto the parchment paper and smoothing out with a spatula to make an even chocolate layer, then adding toppings!

Chocolate Bark Four Ways

#1 - Cranberry, Pistachio and White Chocolate

This recipe is more for your traditional chocolate bark fans, and it one of my favourites. After you've melted the dark chocolate and spread it onto your parchment paper, simply melt 50g/2oz of white chocolate and dollop onto the dark chocolate. Swirl around, then add dried cranberries and crushed pistachios.

#2 - Candy Canes, Crushed M&Ms and White Chocolate

For someone with a sweet tooth and flair for the colourful, this is ideal! Melt dark chocolate, spread onto parchmant paper, add 50g/2oz of melted white chocolate (as above), then add crushed up candy canes and M&Ms of choice.

#3 - Goji berry, almond and coconut

For the more health conscious at Christmas, this is a winner! Spread the dark chocolate, then add some goji berries, chopped almonds and coconut chips.

#4 - Orange and Almond

You definitely can't go wrong with chocolate and orange! Finely zest half an orange and chop almonds. Add to melted chocolate.

So get into the Christmas spirit! And remember to keep following for more Christmas specials! Tag us on instagram @thehomecookskitchen- we'd love to see your creations!
